Welcome!

In continuing the global efforts to achieve aquaculture sustainability, FAO and NACA are co-organizing the Global Conference on Aquaculture 2010 with the theme Farming the Waters for People and Food. The conference will be hosted by the Royal Government of Thailand’s Department of Fisheries.  Aquaculture has developed with extraordinary progress and knowledge acquired 10 years since the Conference on Aquaculture in the Third Millennium in 2000, has grown significantly. It is now timely to examine how to use experiences of progress and knowledge in meeting the future global challenges.

This conference will provide a global forum for national, regional and international colleagues and government representatives to appreciate the current state of aquaculture development, to discuss how technology and resources, science, governance, networking, knowledge, manpower and institutional strengthening can contribute to finding solutions to the challenges the sector faces and will face in the future.

To this end, we are extending our most cordial invitation to all aquaculture stakeholders  to join the Global Aquaculture Conference 2010 so that each may take part in advancing the aquaculture agenda and its future.
